What is personal data?

Personal data is all data that can provide information on an identifiable natural person. Examples of personal data are your name, address, date of birth and bank account number.

 

What personal data is processed?

Career Factory processes your personal data that is necessary for its services.

 

We process the following personal data when you register with us/respond to a vacancy:

  • name and address, email address and other contact details
  • date of birth, gender
  • curriculum vitae (CV), information on education, motivation, position, internships and work experience
  • data on training courses and education that you have followed
  • data on availability and holidays
  • other data that may be of interest in the context of assessing the suitability of a candidate, such as references and diplomas
  • passport photo (or other visual material) on a voluntary basis

The moment you can start working/work/have worked for Career Factory, we process:

  • nationality, social security number, copy of ID, work licence (if applicable)
  • other data that is related to the registration of staff, salary and absence

We do not process the social security number or copy of the ID of self-employed people who start working/work/have worked, but a copy of the extract trade register, VAT number, policy and proof of payment of a professional liability insurance.

We process the following personal data of clients, suppliers and other relations:

  • Name, contact data and position. 

Base for processing personal data

Career Factory processes your personal data on one of the legal bases.

 

Career Factory processes the personal data of agency workers, candidates, permanent staff of Career Factory and applicants mainly because processing is necessary to fulfil legal obligations, or because processing is necessary for the implementation of an agreement (the employment contract, mediation or temporary employment contract).

 

Personal data of clients, suppliers and other relations are also processed because processing is necessary for the implementation of the agreement.

 

When do we collect personal data?

We collect your data from the moment you fill in your data or leave it on our website or the website of one of our franchisees, or register in any other way or are registered to use our services.

 

By using our website you share data with us through cookies. Technical information (e.g. the Internet Protocol (IP) address, date and time of access to the website, search terms used, the pages of the website that you have visited and the information you viewed) is used for the management of the website and to improve the website and its use. We use cookies to monitor how visitors use our website. We use this knowledge to optimise our website for our visitors. Besides, with your permission tacking cookies can be used. From the pages on our website that you visit, general knowledge can be gathered on the way websites are used and we can see what you are interested in. Building profiles with such information can then be used for sending targeted information and offers.

 

Purpose of processing personal data

Our aim is to provide the best possible service. We want to offer you a targeted and personal service, for which we need your personal data.

 

Career Factory is a labour broker in temporary and permanent staff. Career Factory mediates temporary employees and secondments, self-employed people and recruits and selects permanent staff.

 

Personal data of agency workers, candidates, self-employed people and permanent staff of Career Factory and applicants is processed for making workers available, for recruitment and selection, payroll, staff administration, assessment and training.

 

Personal data of contact persons of clients, suppliers and other relations is processed for maintaining contacts and concluding agreements.

 

Personal data not obtained directly from the person concerned

If personal data is processed that we have not obtained directly from you, but from publicly available sources, you will be informed within a month on the type of personal data and what the source of the personal data was.

 

On the basis of the legitimate interest job matching is used. The algorithm searches patterns in all knowledge and skills of (potential) candidates on the one hand and what Career Factory or clients consider successful on the other. This increases the predictive value of a match. If Career Factory processes personal data from public sources for this (e.g. LinkedIn), you will be informed within a month about the type of personal data and what the source of the personal data was. On the basis of permission or agreement your personal data will be processed. If Career Factory decides not to process your data or if you indicate that you do not want Career Factory to process your data, your personal data will be removed and not processed any further.

 

Receivers of your personal data

Your personal data can be passed on to parties to whom Career Factory provides services, parties that provide services to Career Factory or other business relations and public bodies, if this is necessary for the purpose of processing or for complying with a legal obligation. Provision of personal data is always in line with the purpose of processing personal data.

 

Your personal data can be passed on to countries outside the Netherlands. Such transfers are only made to countries with a sufficient level of protection.

 

Protection of personal data

We do all we can to protect your personal data the best way possible against unauthorised access, loss or theft. We have an internal policy for this to make sure that our services are arranged in such a way that a sufficient level of protection is in place. Staff of Career Factory only have access to your personal data when this is necessary.

 

If and insofar as data is provided to processors that provide services on behalf of Career Factory, Career Factory has concluded a processing agreement with them. Optimal protection has also been agreed with the processors.

 

Storage terms

We need your personal data to be able to offer you good services. This also primarily determines the term we observe for storing your personal data. Our basic principle is that we only keep personal data for as long as is necessary to provide services to you. After this, we will remove your personal data.

 

In some cases we are legally obliged to keep personal data longer. For instance, tax laws require keeping tax-relevant personal data for another seven years.

 

Personal data can be removed at any moment, if Career Factory receives notice form you to remove your personal data.

 

Your privacy rights

You have the right to inspect personal data we have of you. Besides, you have the right to have personal data corrected, deleted and/or transferred.
